Marigold Mehndi Jali

A Mehndi stage that layers marigold garlands, colorful draping and patterned jali details around a white sofa. Cushions and a rug bring the color down to floor level, giving the scene a distinct foreground as well as a backdrop.

What gives this design its character

Color in layers

Pink and yellow draping sits against a darker teal center. The white sofa breaks up the saturated color and keeps the seating easy to distinguish.

Detail above and below

Garlands and small hanging ornaments occupy the upper frame. Cushions, a patterned rug and low decorative accents extend the design in front of the sofa.

A patterned frame

Jali columns and arches create a defined outline around the fabric. Their repeating cutout details give the backdrop texture alongside the garlands.

What to adapt for your celebration

Select your lead colors

Choose two or three colors you want guests to notice first, then use the smaller textiles and floral accents to support them. Share outfit colors if you want the seating area to complement them.

Decide how the foreground will be used

A decorated floor area may be a photo setting, a place for part of a ceremony, or space needed for movement. Tell us how you expect to use it so seating, rugs and accessories can be discussed together.
